Key competences and needs for support. Report II on international project management in the civil society sector of adult education.”

The research was realised in Poland, Italy, Hungary, Denmark and Austria in the spring 2019. It consisted of on-line questionnaire, interviews and a desk research. The research respondents were over 200 managers and management bodies members of the civil society organisations active in the field of lifelong learning, as well as several specialists working for the European grant programmes operators. In addition to the key competences of the international project managers, the report describes the needs of support expected by the international cooperation specialists from the managers of the organisations they are working for.

We have the pleasure to announce that, with the date of 4th of December 2020, the five project partners of the "First-time international projects realisers support network" project accepted the final shape of the Memorandum of Understanding founding the international FIRST Network. The word 'FIRST' is the acronym of  First International Realisation Support Team Network.
The mission of the FIRST Network is strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations and entities active in the adult education sector to operate in the international arena, enhancing innovativeness and the ability to adapt to changes in the modern world. The goals and planned activities of the Network are described in the Memorandum of Understanding.

The FIRST Network is open for new members, that can become the civil society organisations and entities active in the field of liberal adult education/lifelong learning. If interested in getting involved in the FIRST Network activities, please contact one of the founding members:

How to plan, design and deliver international training for first-time international projects realisers? What should it contain? What methods could be used? What possible training programmes realised? And especially - how to turn a training into an online form? Feel invited to get inspired by the Polish, Hungarian, Danish, Austrian and Italian experiences!

The report also summarises and compares the support offer for international projects managers available in several EU countries. The research was realised in Poland, Italy, Hungary, Denmark and Austria in the spring 2019. It consisted of on-line questionnaire, interviews and desk research. The research respondents were over 200 managers and management bodies members of the civil society organisations active in the field of lifelong learning, as well as some EU level grant programmes operators specialists. The Mentoring Report is the main result of the fourth activity of 1st TIP-PM consortium: it is a collection of "Guidelines and scenario for implementation mentoring and e-mentoring systems supporting international cooperation initiation and developing in the 3rd sector adult learning organisations".

The general aim is to deliver ready-to-use mentoring programmes, both for the adult education organisations managers and first-time international project managers.

The Mentoring Report is now translated and available for the consultation and download in English and also in Austrian, Danish, English, Hungarian, Italian and Polish.

The European Conference "International cooperation. How to start it well?" valorising the key outcomes of  the “First-time international projects realisers support network” project took place - paralell in Tyniec (Poland) and online 21st – 22nd of September 2020.

There were participants from Poland, Italy, Hungary, Denmark, Austria, Portugal and Latvia taking part in the event. Thank you for your active participation, sharing ideas, experiences and networking!

We do hope that the tools and solutions presented, as well as the new contacts made,  would be useful for your work as the international projects realisers.

It is our pleasure to invite all interested in international cooperation and lifelong learning to the international conference valorising the key outcomes of the “First-time international projects realisers support network” project.

The Conference will take place 21 - 22 of September 2020 at The Guest House of the Tyniec Abbey in Tyniec (next to Kraków). The conference starts at 1 pm September 21st and ends at 3 pm September 22nd.

The aim of the conference is to capitalise the 2 – year long cooperation of five civil society organisations from five European countries: Poland, Italy, Hungary, Austria and Denmark.

During the conference the following main outcomes of the project will be presented and discussed:
- The Multilateral Survey Report on good practices and success stories at supporting international projects managers in the adult education civil society organisations.
- The Multilateral Research Report on key competences of international project managers in the adult education civil society.
- The ‘SUPPORT PORTAL’ for the first time international projects realisers.
- The mentoring and e-mentoring system for the first-time international project realisers.
- The training course curricula and open educational resources for the first time international projects realisers.

Last but not least, during the conference, a network of civil society organizations representing the adult education sector – The FIRST Network - will be presented. The aim of the FIRST Network will be to contribute to strengthening the capacity of these organizations to work internationally, enhancing innovativeness and the ability to adapt to changes in the modern world.
