The “First-time international project realisers support network” is an international, Erasmus+ Programme supported development project, being realised by five civil society organisations from five European countries: Poland, Italy, Hungary, Denmark and Austria. The project is being realised in the period: October 2018 – September 2020 (24 months).
The main challenge the project addresses is relatively low degree of international, partnership cooperation and networking between the civil society organisations (associations, foundations, social cooperatives etc.) providing adult education in the EU member states, resulting in lower than possible level of innovativeness of those organisations.
The main target group of the project activities are adult education sector representatives of the 3rd sector, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs): associations, foundations, third age universities, folk universities, social cooperatives, social enterprises etc. – interested in initiating and realising international cooperation in their fields of activities. The project offer will be addressed to the CSOs workers, co-workers, managers and volunteers, and especially – to the 1st time international project managers.
The project idea is to design and deliver sustainable support for the 1st time international project managers and the civil society organisations active in the life-long learning sector planning to incorporate international cooperation into their development strategies.
The aim is to support increasing innovativeness of the adult education organisations, in terms of education methodology, outreach to adult learners and managing adult education organisations, through supporting them at undertaking new ways and areas of activities.
In more detail, the objectives are:
1. To increase competences of the managers and educators to initiate, develop and realize international cooperation projects aiming to enhance inclusion, diversity, equality and
non-discrimination in the adult education sector.
2. To support the adult education providers’ capacity to engage in international, European cooperation, by developing sustainable training programmes & mentoring systems for the managers and educators.
3. To ensure long-term support for adult education providers to create new international partnerships as well as to initiate international projects by delivering a sustainable Support Portal & an International Support Network.
To achieve this, the project partners will realise:

International survey in order to identify good practices & success stories at supporting international projects managers in the civil society’s adult education organisations and the key competences of international project managers in the civil society’s adult education organisations. Fundacja Alternatywnych Inicjatyw Edukacyjnych (FAIE) is non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 2011.
The main goal is adults Life Long Learning promoting - developing one’s own abilities, predispositions, interests - both in personal and professional life. Another goal is to promote and support vocational and personal development through culture and art (professional as well as un-professional). FAIE also promotes applying ecological solutions at work as well as in everyday life.
Relying on extensive experience of our people, since the beginning we support the Non-governmental organisations at planning, developing and realizing international projects, co-financed from external funds. We do believe, that international cooperation delivers the most of valuable inspiration. This is why we specialize in supporting international projects. We support at searching for partner/ partners, at project planning, at finding best financing opportunity – and finally – at the project realization. We work in the frame of closed training-and-advisory programmes as well as individually.
The other areas of activities are: empowering democracy and promoting civic and democratic activity and supporting the youth and youth workers as a part of the Eurodesk network.

Social cooperative created in 1979, COOSS is a private not-for-profit organisation which provides care services, social services, training and educational actions in the Marche Region, Italy. It currently has approximately 2.900 members/employees.
Dedicated to the promotion of the individual, COOSS recognises that everyone has a basic right to a fair quality of life.
COOSS considers that every person is a unique individual. This expresses the maxim of the cooperative “YOU are at the heart of our Coossmo”, in the belief that the individual characteristics of every individual are a heritage that must be protected and promoted.
Recognised by the regional government, COOSS is also active in vocational education and training (VET), manages and develops VET (in both initial and further training), adult education actions and is active in national and international project management since 1993.

Mission of the Folk High School Association Surrounding Budapest (FHSASB) is to contribute to the agricultural and rural development by new adult educational techniques based on the local knowledge and local activities.
Our goals are:
- to be present in the life of people living in villages and different settlements, and
- to be familiar with the problems of the small places as much as possible, as better solutions we can give, in order to mobilize different resources.
In order to reach the goals our activities are:
- Helping cultural education amongst rural people dealing with agriculture, establishing and developing the eagerness of self-education
- Discovering and enhancing the needs of the agricultural and rural development educational programmes based on local knowledge and local activities.
- Discovering and spreading new educational techniques in the undeveloped regions
- Promoting equal opportunity and social integration in the undeveloped regions
- Developing non-formal and informal adult education
- Promotion of self-subsistence forms of sharing economy and social cooperatives.

Interfolk, Institute for Civil Society - is a Danish non-profit and non-governmental association and private research institute, founded in 2008. Interfolk is a member of the Baltic Sea NGO Network Denmark; the International Platform for Citizen Participation (IPCP); and the European Network for Active Participation in Cultural Activities (AMATEO).
The aim is to promote humanistic and democratic learning capacities in a civil society context. The activities of Interfolk include research, surveys, development projects, courses, seminars, debate arrangements and other cultural activities - in a Danish, Nordic and European context.

The aim of the research process was to answer two basic questions:
- What is the basic skill-set to be a successful international project manager in a 3rd sector adult learning organisation?
- What is the optimal support the adult learning organisations managers shall offer to their international cooperation specialists to be able to initiate, design and realise successful international projects of high quality?
Answers to these questions received will be used to design and develop the training curricula and other methods of support for the first-time international project realisers.
Training courses
All five project partners will design and deliver pilot training courses for 2 respective target groups:
1) First-time international project managers and
2) Managers/management bodies members at the 3rd sector adult education organisations.
The courses will be organised in the period: October 2019 – March 2020.
The testing of the European level training courses, for the two above mentioned groups will be organised in Budapest in March 2020.
Participation in all the courses will be free of charge.
After realising the courses, there will be a thorough evaluation conducted in order to improve them.
After finalising the courses, both the trainees and the trainers will be asked to evaluate the learning process and give recommendations for possible improvements.
The final, perfected training packages, including the handbook as a methodological guide to implementing the trainings, will be made available through the ‘SUPPORT PORTAL’ for anyone interested.
The courses will also be included in the offer of the ‘International Support Network’ dedicated to the first-time international project realisers.
Each trainings provider in each partner country decides, if parcicipation in the trainings and mentoring process are interconnected, or not.

RECRUITMENT
In general, to take part in the national/international training courses and the mentoring process you must meet the following criteria:
- Being the member/worker/co-worker/educator/volunteer of a 3rdsector adult education organisation (i.e. civil society organisation, including informal groups, non-governmental organisations and other non-profit organisations) such as:
- Associations and foundations;
- Folk High Schools;- Third Age Universities;
- Adult Education Centres;
- Study Centres;
- Summer Universities;
- Evening Schools;
- Third Age Universities;
- Social Cooperatives;
- Sports Institutes etc.
- Belonging to one of the two following groups:
A. Staff & members/volunteers/experts of the adult education organisations who would like to initiate and realise international partnership cooperation – as the first-time international project managers;
B. The managers and management bodies members (board members, council members, etc.) in the education organisations that would like to initiate and run international cooperation.

There will be two civil society organizations, in each of the five partner countries, invited to test the mentoring and e-mentoring process (10 organizations in total).
The aim of the mentoring will be to prepare and guide the first-time international project manager and the organization he / she is working for to realize its first international cooperation project.
The mentors will be experienced international project managers and management bodies members of the adult learning sector civil society organizations.
The mentoring process will be realized in the period: October 2019 - March 2020.
Participation in the mentoring process will be free of charge.
After finalizing the mentoring process, both the mentors and the mentees will be asked to evaluate the cooperation and give recommendations for possible improvements.
Ready-to-use mentoring programs, both for the adult education organization managers and first-time international project managers, will then be available at the SUPPORT PORTAL.
The mentoring and e-mentoring services will also be included in the offer of the 'International Support Network' dedicated to the first-time international project realisers.
Each mentoring provider in each partner country decides, if parcicipation in the trainings and mentoring process are interconnected, or not.
